Before- and aftercare Cosmelan/Dermamelan

Stop using other intensive products or medication creams 1 week before treatment.
On the day of treatment, you may not have a cold sore. In that case we will schedule a new appointment.
Sunscreen with SPF30/50 should be applied regularly; 6 weeks before until 6 weeks after treatment.
The treatment with the mask will always be applied in the morning. The mask remains on the skin for 4 to 12 hours.
You will go home with the mask on. The mask has a mustard color and will be visible. Own transport is therefore pleasant.
The treatment may not be combined with other depigmentation treatments.
Come to the appointment without make-up.
You may not be pregnant or nursing during the Cosmelan/Dermamelan process.

The mask may be washed off with lukewarm water after the pre-appointed time has elapsed. After washing off, the skin may feel red, warm and burning.
The day after the treatment is a rest day for the skin. The skin will only be cleansed with a perfume- and paraben-free cleanser the Melan recovery cream and sunscreen should be applied.
48 hours after the mask you should start with the home product Cosmelan 2 OR after 72 hours with the Dermamelan cream. Let the Cosmelan 2 or the Dermamelan cream, soak in for 10 minutes before applying the Melan recovery cream.
After about 1 week the skin will stop peeling and will locally change to flaking, in addition, the burning and itching sensation will decrease.
Do not use scrubs or peelings. Avoid steam baths, sauna and swimming in a hot spring for 2 weeks after treatment.
The treatment should not be interrupted in between because the production of melanin is suppressed.

General instructions for use of product:

Cleanse the skin with the Mesoestetic Hydracream fusion and Hydratonic mist (available in the clinic).
Apply the home product Cosmelan 2 / Dermamelan treatment very thinly. Do this according to the protocol provided (unless otherwise advised by your therapist).
Leave this on for 5 to 10 minutes before applying moisturizer Melan Recovery (max 3x a day) and sunscreen Melan pigment control 130 (every 2 hours).
Use sunscreen SPF 130/50 every 2 hours when you are outside. The Mesoestetic's SPF line also protects the skin from the light coming from computers and lamps.
After everything is soaked in, make-up may be applied.
STOP applying if you notice that certain areas are darkening and irritated! Always contact the clinic before you stop using the products. In doubt about the skin reaction? Then always contact the practitioner.
