Step-by-step plan of a Sculptra treatment

In a free consultation you discuss your wishes, the treatment options and a concrete treatment plan. Of course, your specific goals are determined, and the cosmetic doctor examines which areas of your skin can be optimally treated. Then an appointment can be scheduled for the first Sculptra treatment.

Step 1.

Come in, sit back and relax. Together with your cosmetic doctor, you'll once again go over the specific goals of the Sculptra treatment;

Step 2.

Based on your goals, the areas where the Sculptra will be injected are marked on your face;

During the Sculptra treatment, the natural substance is injected into the deepest layer of skin, the deep dermis. Of course, the number of spots depends on the area to be treated;

The treatment lasts no longer than 30 minutes and most people describe it as quick and painless;

What should I take into account after a Sculptra treatment?

This is a good question, and it deserves a comprehensive answer. Of course, your cosmetic doctor will give you all the information you need before, during and after the treatment. But to give you online insight into the desired aftercare, here is a step-by-step breakdown of what you can expect.

For the first 5 days after treatment, massage the treated areas 5 times 5 minutes a day. Our cosmetic doctor will advice you on how best to do this. Use a moisturising cream to reduce friction during massaging.
To reduce any swelling, you can apply a cold compress/cool pack wrapped in a piece of cloth. Note: do not put ice directly on the skin.
Make-up may be applied a few hours after the Sculptra treatment, as long as there are no complications such as wounds or bleeding.
Avoid sun exposure and UV tanning lamps until swelling and redness have disappeared.
Avoid using sauna and steam baths for 24 hours.
Keep in mind that the effect of the Sculptra treatment becomes visible after about 6 weeks.
